Richardson is the city about nine miles north of our office on Central Expressway. Our route is Preston Road to Northwest Highway, then US 75. The Texas State Historical Association records a town of 1,288 people in 1952 that grew to 16,810 by 1960 and 43,900 by 1970, driven by Collins Radio, Texas Instruments and the extension of Central Expressway through the city in 1954. Today it covers a little over 28 square miles and had nearly 120,000 residents in 2020.
That growth was fast and uniform, which defines the garages.
